Safety Steps for Portrait Sessions
Safety Steps
I’m so excited to be back with you!! And proud to be sporting a mask for your protection.
I’ve taken into consideration that this can be a scary time when having images taken. I want to ensure you that I have diligently put in place methods and recommendation to make your experience safe.
On June17th I hired a cleaning service to deep clean my studio. This is something I will have done often. I could do this myself but honestly I find in this situation having a second set of eyes feels like the best thing to do.
I know this can be a stressful time so I’ve taken some steps to provide extra creature comforts that you can enjoy during your time with me. I have some other ideas brewing for the near future.
I want to share that I have read the requirements from the CDC and Governor Inslee for re-opening. I have also taken the pledge through Love Edmonds group, this is a pledge that I’m committed to taking safety steps. I’d like to share a few of those. If I’ve missed something that is important to you feel free to reach out. I want to make sure I’’m covering everything. Here are the list of guidelines:
Client occupancy is at 50%: Im taking less clients, actually less then recommended( working with babies I want to be extra careful). The amount of clients I see in the studio will now be cut down to 2 days a week. I felt this number was needed so that I have proper time to clean the space or have it cleaned. While clients are in the studio i have added some creature comforts: Tv with session review and a show of you choice while waiting, and just some essentials that are easier to grab.
Masks: I will be wearing PPE; mask and cloth gloves. I have also stocked the space with mask for clients convenience. I understand that with newborns and young children things can be a little wild getting out of the house so I will provide mask.
Hand Sanitizer and Trash cans: Required and available.
Guest in Studio: In the past I’ve allowed extra people and now that this guideline has encouraged less people I ask that only mom, dad and children( and maybe only siblings being photographed) be in the studio.
Sanitation: As mentioned above I will be having my space cleaned more often by a professional for that second set of eyes, I feel this is extra important these days. If the studio is cleaned I will be wiping every surface down and allowing the studio to sit for 48+ hours between clients.
Newborn wraps and clothing: I provide wraps and clothing during sessions. Starting now I will be dry cleaning each item used. In the past I would launder these items but again I feel more comfortable taking them to a dry cleaner.
Many of these steps have been taken since the day I opened but now more then ever I’m certain they are important.
Ive taken a few images to give an idea of the steps taken. If I’ve missed something do share.
